Privacy Policy

    Last updated: 2026-08-07

This Privacy Policy explains how kitsunagu (“we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the kitsunagu website (the “Service”). kitsunagu is a free directory and does not require you to create an account.

    1. Information we collect

Information you provide: we collect the information you submit through the Service’s forms. If you submit a firm or lawyer listing, we collect the professional details you provide and your contact email. If you join a waitlist, we collect your email address. If you report an issue with a listing, we collect the details of your report. If you submit a privacy request, we collect your name, email address, and the details of your request.

Information collected automatically: we use Google Analytics (GA4), delivered through Google Tag Manager, to measure traffic and usage patterns. Google Analytics collects information such as the pages you visit, your actions on the Service, device and browser information, and approximate location derived from your IP address. Analytics is loaded only with your consent in the EU, EEA, and UK, and by default elsewhere (see “Cookies and analytics” below).

Abuse prevention: when you submit any form, Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise processes a token and your IP address to protect the Service from automated abuse. Honeypot fields and IP-based rate limits are used for the same purpose.

    2. How we use information

We use the information we collect to process and respond to listing submissions, waitlist signups, issue reports, and privacy requests; to operate, maintain, and improve the Service; to analyze usage trends and measure the performance of the Service; and to protect the Service against fraud, abuse, and security threats. We do not sell your personal information.

    3. Cookies and analytics

Cookies: the Service sets essentially no first-party cookies. Preferences such as your language choice are stored in your browser’s local storage, which is not a cookie, and the Service works without cookies enabled.

Analytics: we use Google Analytics (GA4), delivered via Google Tag Manager, to measure traffic and usage patterns. Google Analytics collects information such as the pages you visit, your actions on the Service, device and browser information, and approximate location derived from your IP address. Google processes this data as described in Google’s own privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and, for advertising-related data practices, its business data responsibility page (https://business.safety.google/privacy/).

Consent: visitors in the EU, EEA, or UK are asked to accept or reject analytics cookies before any Google cookies or analytics run. Visitors elsewhere can opt out at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer or by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

    4. How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that operate the Service on our behalf (such as hosting, analytics, and email providers), who may process it only as needed to provide their services. We may also disclose information where required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users or the public.

    5. Data retention

We retain information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy. Form submissions are delivered to us by email and retained in our inbox for as long as needed to respond and follow up. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and diagnostics. Directory data is retained while a listing is active, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

    6. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, and you may object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, use the privacy request form or contact us at contact@kitsunagu.com. We will respond within 30 days.

    7. Third-party sites

The Service links to third-party websites, including those of listed law firms. This Policy does not apply to those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.

    8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

    9. Children’s privacy

The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

    10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.

    11. Contact us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your information, contact kitsunagu at contact@kitsunagu.com.
